Guangzhou Scorpions announce new President

The Guangzhou Scorpions have announced the appointment of Zhang Hao as the new President of the club, taking over from retiring President Aaron Hardcastle.

Zhang is the first indigenous Chinese President of the Guangzhou Scorpions and is set to lead the club to a new and exciting era.

Zhang brings a wealth of playing and administrative experience to the Guangzhou Scorpions and AFL in China. Zhang has previously held the role of Operations Manager for 3 years and has developed a number of key strategic partnerships with local Chinese universities which has resulted in a rapid increase of player interest and participation.

Along with his role with the Scorpions, Zhang has grown a local Guangdong AFL competition which is the feeder program for the wider South China AFL competition. Furthermore, Zhang has been a key driver of the Guangzhou Auskick program which has seen an astounding participation rate of 67 children in its inaugural year.
